The Jeep Wrangler has an undisputed reputation as the go-to choice for adventurous drivers and off-road addicts. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler has more to offer than ever before, but it also comes in four different trims. Take a look at this breakdown of the trims to determine which is the right choice for you.
Wrangler Sport
Starting at an MSRP of $26,995, the Wrangler Sport represents the entry level version of this popular off-road vehicle. It makes a great first impression with 17-inch black styled steel wheels and lots of paint options, but it doesn’t skimp on utility either. Tow hooks and skid plates are standard, and the 3.6-liter engine generates up to 285 horsepower and 260 pounds per foot of torque.
You can choose from a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic transmission at this level of trim. You can also upgrade the Wrangler Sport to a four-door model with an MSRP of $30,495.
Wrangler Sport S
Like the previous model, the Wrangler Sport S comes in two-door (MSRP $30,495) and four-door (MSRP $33,695) configurations. This upgraded model adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and its wheels are finished with tech silver aluminum for an even more striking appearance.
And while its engine and transmission options are the same as the Wrangler Sport, you can take advantage of greater luxury and convenience while driving. This is because the infotainment system in the Wrangler Sport S has been upgraded to Uconnect 4, which supports Bluetooth streaming and Apple CarPlay software via an available 7-inch touch-screen display.
Wrangler Sahara
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara is another step up on the scale of trim levels. It’s available only as a four-door vehicle and comes at an MSRP of $37,345. This model sports bigger (18-inch) wheels with tech gray spokes as well as side steps and body-color fender flares. Add in the available signature LED exterior lighting, and this makes for a more visually impressive Wrangler.
However, the upgrades aren’t all cosmetic. The Sahara model can also be equipped with Jeep’s Selec-Trac Full-Time 4X4 System, and it has a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds.
Wrangler Rubicon
Choose between a two-door (MSRP $36,995) and four-door (MSRP $40,495) version of this premium Jeep Wrangler. This trim is ready to leave the beaten path with its 33-inch off-road all-terrain tires and locking front and rear heavy-duty axles.
Superior Safety
There’s so much more to discover. Make an appointment with Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Walla Walla to talk about how the new Dodge Durango SRT can add some speed to your life. It has the muscle and comfort to excite drivers who loved previous Dodge Durango models.
Like the Wrangler Sahara, the Rubicon can tow up to 3,500 pounds and is powered by the same engine as the other trims. However, the Rubicon features steel off-road rock rails and skid plates. You can also equip your Wrangler Rubicon with available winch-capable steel bumpers. And while this new Rubicon model is more off-road capable than ever before, it’s equally competent and comfortable for everyday highway cruising.
As you can see, there’s not that much difference under the hood between the four levels of trim. And while each model introduces several performance-oriented features, there’s no wrong choice when it comes to the 2018 Jeep Wrangler.
