The Chrysler 300 is a full-size sedan that offers a comfortable ride, a choice of powerful engines, and the latest safety technology. The 300 makes a fantastic commuting car because of its smooth highway driving capabilities and the interior space. The 2018 model comes with a new entry-level trim, and Chrysler made the V-8 engine standard on the 300C trim. Here are some of the features that can help you upgrade your commute with the 2018 Chrysler 300.

The Engines and the Performance

The base engine on the lower trims of the 300 is a 3.6-liter V-6 that generates 292 horsepower for most models and 300 horsepower in the 300S with the performance exhaust. If you want some extra power, upgrade to the 5.7-liter V-8, which delivers 363 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque. No matter which engine you have in the Chrysler 300, it will allow you to confidently pull out onto the highway and pass with ease, but the V-8 is the powerhouse. This engine will get you up to 60 miles per hour in just 5.8 seconds. Both engines come with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and if you choose the 300S or 300C, you’ll get paddle shifters along with a sport mode that will shift quickly through the gears to give you an even better response.

The Interior Luxury

The 300’s cabin is large with plenty of head and leg room no matter where you sit. In the back, the rear seat will easily accommodate three adults if you need to carpool to work, and there are several storage areas throughout the cabin for loose items. Upgrade to the 300C for Nappa leather seats or the Limited for heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. The 300’s trunk is also spacious, with over 16 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up.

The Technology

All 300 models come well-equipped with the latest technology, including Bluetooth for phone and audio, USB ports, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Chrysler also offers several packages to add more technology and convenience features. The Touring L with the Value packages has the latest version of the Uconnect infotainment system complete with navigation, and the Premium Group adds a Beats Audio system with 10 speakers. The 300S comes standard with a remote start system, and the 300C offers the option for a Harman Kardon stereo system.

The Safety Features

Chrysler makes your commute as safe as possible with standard and optional safety features. All trims come with a rearview camera, hill-start assist, and front knee air bags. You can add additional active safety features through packages on each of the trims, including forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, blind-spot monitors with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. You can also get automatic high beams and front and rear parking sensors.

The 2018 Chrysler 300 makes it easy to upgrade your commute. Whether you choose the base model or you upgrade to one of the higher trims, this sedan offers a smooth, comfortable, and powerful ride.
